Amber’s 1st Dove

Amber is the same color as this fox Greg shot down near Brownwood

Send an e-mail, we’re not at home.  To much fun to be had on the toys.

Here I am!  I stand at the door and knock.  If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me.  Revelation 3:20

We are an outdoor Texas family that likes to play hard.  Upon arriving in the Dallas/ Fort Worth Metroplex in 2001, we found ourselves with many water fowling opportunities and fellow outdoor friends.  We were so impressed with a good friend’s black lab, Star, that we started the search for our own Yellow Labrador Retriever puppy.

Our search lead us to Bart Hege of Go West Retrievers located in Argyle, Texas.  His GRHRCH UH Go West Sylus MH, had just sired a litter of yellow puppies with a fellow hunting club member’s female from Nebraska, HR M.D.’s Cotton Rascal.  We were lucky enough to pick up “Amber” in February 2004.

We soon realized our active family of four would need more than one lab to keep everyone happy.  In the Summer of 2005, we started the search for our 2nd lab.  After being on a few unsuccessful waiting lists, we were able to pick “Midnight” from Bill and Kelli Corcoran’s stud dog Twin Rivers Cold One MH, QAA in the Summer of 2006.  Midnight’s mother is Texas Two Steppers Grande Duchess of East Texas.  Sadly Midnight developed Lymphoma and passed away 4/2008.

We have replaced Midnight with our new puppy Onyx.

Greg and our son actively shoot over both dogs during hunting seasons—dove, duck and goose.  In February each year, Chris gets the dogs back from their fun hunting adventures to participate in hunt tests and an occasional field trial.
